A 6 class series focused on supporting white folks to connect to our histories and lineages in the service of being able to show up more authentically for racial and economic justice. This class uses history, the book My Grandmother's Hands by Resmaa Menakem and somatic practices to metabolize grief, open new channels for understanding ourselves and being present with the pain of others. A separate reading support group for My Grandmother's Hands is also offered, but not required. This class is gift based.
Please note that the class is 6 Wednesdays (October 20th - November 24th) at 4 - 6 pm PST and 7 - 9 pm EST. If you are able, I recommend also registering for the My Grandmother's Hands Reading Group on Tuesdays for extra support, however it is not required. Please obtain a copy of My Grandmother's Hands by Resmaa Menakem as soon as possible so that you have a copy for before the start of class.
This class is a gift based offering, meaning that it is offered freely as a gift from my spirit to yours. If you would like to offer me back a gift in the spirit of gratitude, it would be greatly appreciated and helps me meet my needs as a teacher and herbalist. I will be supplying my payment information at the end of class, and I encourage folks to complete the class (and receive the gift in full) before considering what they might like to gift me in return. This class is also a 50/50 fundraiser for the Black Liberation Movement Central Ohio and Stop Line 3 (50% of what we raise from this class will be shared evenly between those two entities).
